The issues below are not exhaustive; a new list is in progress.

USA Challenges

Comprehensive work available at the Strategic Democracy page
A more explicit list is forthcoming
Looking into the future of interactions among individuals, groups, and organizations within societal institutions is a complex task that involves analyzing trends, predicting current data, and understanding the multifaceted dynamics of societal change. This is part of “The KARTS (Knowledge and Action for Results over Time in Society) Paradigm” series of books; it is the book titled “Strategic Democracy,” complemented by “Strategic Republic,” which studies the behavior and performance of the U.S. government from President Nixon to President Biden.
Societal institutions are foundational systems and structures that govern the operations, behaviors, and norms within a society. They serve as the pillars upon which societal order, culture, and development are built. These institutions are critical for managing resources, guiding social interactions, and providing frameworks for management and leadership. These institutions are Economy, Education, Environment (natural), Health, Marriage & family, Law & order, Information & media, Politics, Religion, and Technology. Below, I will introduce 30 of the 200 issues/events and explain each. The issues are currently being reviewed for validity and reliability before publishing them.

The examples below are a condensed version of challenges that amount to over a hundred issues of a periodic nature, without mentioning real-time issues.  The examples below do not contain sources (available and too many to list) and have not been subjected to conclusive validity and reliability concerns (in progress), as follows:
Condensed Challenges
Please note: Sources for all the challenges are available and not listed. Moreover, the issues listed below are for illustration and are not exhaustive. The events are a sample of many, and agreement/disagreement is a function of validity and reliability (in progress).
1. Economy (3 out of 39 issues/events)
1.1. Slowing economic growth: Expected to slow in the future as turbulence increases.
1.2.Consumer spending shifts: Changes in how people spend their money are expected because of lower savings, and changes in credit conditions affect economic dynamics.
1.3.Financial markets: Conflicts between countries, pandemics, and government policies can all cause markets to change, which can affect economies, retirement savings, and assets.

2. Education (3 out of 20 issues/events)
2.1. Integration of technology: The use of technology in education will continue to grow, including increasingly advanced e-learning systems that require validity and reliability.
2.2. Changes to policy: Discussions about how to improve educational outcomes and how to pay for them.
2.3. Curriculum Relevance: It's more important than ever to educate children on the abilities they'll need in the future, notably in STEM fields and in soft skills such as flexibility and critical thinking.

3. Environment - Natural/Ecology (3 out of 15 issues/events)
3.1. Biodiversity: Decreasing/losing species threatens wildlife and increases harm to nature.
3.2. Pollution and sustainability: Pollution hampers sustainable practices.
3.3. Resource depletion: Overusing water, minerals, and forests harms ecosystems and the obtaining of resources.

4. Health (3 out of 20 issues/events)
4.1. Pandemics and New Diseases: COVID-19 showed how quickly diseases can spread, which made it clear that we need strong public health and cooperation across borders.
4.2. Mental Health: Uncertain prevention, treatment, and stigma alleviation.
4.3. Older People: In many nations, longer life expectancies and lower birth rates make it hard to provide healthcare, social security, and care for older people.

5. Marriage & the Family (3 out of 20 issues/events)
5.1. Changing Family Structures: Laws and social policies are changing because there are more divorces, single-parent households, and same-sex families.
5.2. Work-Life Balance: Finding the correct balance between work and family responsibilities still affects mental health and family relationships.
5.3. Social services support: Better social services to aid families, especially in places where people don't make much money.

6. Law & Order (3 out of 20 issues/events)
6.1. Criminal Justice Reform: The criminal justice system requires substantial adjustments because of arguments about police behavior, high rates of incarceration, and racial disparities.
6.2. Enforcing international law and protecting human rights are difficult amid wars, refugee crises, and authoritarian regimes.
6.3. Policing and public safety: Need for fresh concepts and policy modifications for community policing and public safety.

7. Information & Media (3 out of 13 issues/events)
7.1. Misinformation and Fake News: Social media spreads lies that damage democracy, health, and social peace.
7.2. Media Polarization: It makes the gaps in society bigger and makes it harder to find reliable information.
7.3. Digital Privacy: The right to privacy, data collection, and surveillance needs strong legal protection.

8. Politics (3 out of 20 issues/events)
8.1. Populism and division are bad for political norms because they make decision-making harder and undermine democracy.
8.2. Countries need to work together on global problems like climate change, migration, and pandemics, even though there are worries about the legitimacy of global government.
8.3. Public trust and participation: the integrity of elections and efforts to get more people involved in the political process and trust it.

9. Religion (3 out of 20 issues/events)
9.1. Religious extremism: Radical ideologies that put security, tolerance, and interfaith relations at risk, which means that something needs to be done to stop it.
9.2. Secularization and religious resurgence are movements in which some people want to bring religion back, while others want to make it less important. This affects politics, social standards, and identity.
9.3. Interfaith activism: Uncertain methods for promoting peace and tackling global challenges via religious tolerance and collaboration.

10. Technology (3 out of 20 issues/events)
10.1. AI Ethics and Governance: AI poses ethical issues such as privacy, bias, autonomy, and employment, requiring strong governance. Is AI really "AI"?
10.2. Tech Monopolies and Regulation: Big tech companies control the market, raising concerns about privacy, competition, and antitrust.
10.3. Digital Transformation: Changes in many areas are having both good and bad effects on cybersecurity*, the legal system, and social adaptation. *Cybersecurity dangers: As more people use the internet, data breaches, cyberattacks, and online fraud pose greater threats to our safety and privacy.
